I was flipping through my email a few weeks ago and decided to read an article from OM TIMES Magazine and these books just popped out at me on the bottom of the page. “You might like these” yelled out at me from the interests section at the bottom. YOU BETCHA! As I read the info and ordered them in a snap. Amazon is great. You get free shipping on an order over $39.00, and if you’re like me, I always can’t get enough books!

For a few months I’ve wanted to learn more about candles and oils and how I can use them in my every day life. Not only to make my home smell nice, but to enhance my meditations, enlighten and clear the energy in my home, and for healing holistic reasons. I love candles and would love to know more about them.
COVENTRY MAGIC is so much more than a candle book. It’s a for real, own your crap and get off your ass magic book. I love it. It digs deep into your garbage. You have to own your stuff and really get honest with your intent before you go conjuring up anything. This book is fantastic and I’m only on chapter three. It’s a must read for anyone who wants to make some positive changes in their life. Big or small.
Here’s a summary:
Coventry Candle Magic is not your mama’s candle magic; this is candle magic for our complicated 21st century lives. Coventry Magic explores not only what color candle to use for a specific need but how to dig down deep inside and find out what that need really is.
So many times what we think is the problem is only the symptom of the bigger problem. Jacki Smith uses the humor of her own life experiences to show readers how to sort through the traps and tricks they’ve laid for themselves. Her self-evaluation system helps ferret out the underlying issues and beliefs that can often sabotage magical spells. The book helps readers get to the meat of issues and solve them in a magical, life-changing way.
Coventry Candle Magic will be an invaluable reference for beginners as well as experienced magic practitioners–the ultimate candle magic reference book.
I’m kind of a sloppy spiritual person. I forget to put my intent on my meditations, and ritual ceremonies I do to plummet myself forward in my growth, I forget to cast a circle of protection sometimes, and then forget to dismiss and close it. Very messy and very irresponsible. So when I saw this book, I grabbed it.
Here’s a summary:
How to become grounded and centered before one begins
* The Proper timing for casting and ritual work
* How to open up one’s psychic senses to work with subtle energies
* How to set the stage for magickal work both internally and externally
* Protection, symbols and meditations for maintaining sacred space.
* The Circle, the Quarters, and other modes of casting sacred space
* Quartering, energy work, and many cross-practice connections including Qabala and chakras.
The use of casting as a means of establishing sacred space is widely considered the most important step in spiritual and magical work. And yet few really know how to do it or do it well.
