Self Expression through Tattoos and Body Art

I love creative expression   I’ve decided recently to take up some of my old hobbies I used to do.  I have my grade 7 in piano and advanced theory and am thinking of buying a clavinova (electric grand piano) in the new year.  I used to draw all the time and loved art so I’m thinking of doing some of that, and I’m contemplating learning how to make metal jewellery.  I’ll tackle it one at a time but I really want to be my artsy fartsy self again!

So speaking of art and self expression I recently added a piece of art to my torso.  Wow it hurt but I’m glad it’s over.  It took two sessions and thank god the first session I was a pillar of stubborn steel because last night I was the supreme woosey and was squirming around like a baby. lol!

I love beautiful, sexy tattoos.  I have three now.  My first one I got is one of birth flowers.  It’s a lotus in the middle with my children’s birth flowers around it.  It’s very pretty. The second one I got was for my birthday last year.   My special friend Laura passed away and I wanted to get one in memory of her.  She truly was an angel on earth and would talk about her angels that protected and guided her a lot. We shared a special spiritual bond and I miss her dearly.  Thank goodness she visits here and there.  Usually she flies by Andre’s restaurant, our favorite hang out.

This time Rob (my tattoo genius and wonderful artist and fellow Libra) said “This one is for you.  This one will be what you love and represent yourself”  So he designed me a gorgeous tat.  I love flowers and my September flowers are morning glories and asters.  I’m a Libra.  I love metaphysics and spirituality.  I love reading and acquiring knowledge. I love sexy pretty things.

     This is what he did….

The flowers are placed in the same positions that the stars in my Libra constellation are positioned.  The flowers are my birth flowers.  My Chinese birth symbol is incorporated in one leaf, and the Eye of Ra in another.  I have spent years of my life making and reaching personal spiritual goals.  Being my best self and ridding myself of the conditioning that has been put on me has been a priority of mine since my late teens. It’s a joy for me to finally reap the benefits of the extensive and often intense work of personal evolution.

September’s birth flower is the ASTER. Asters are mainly symbols of powerful love. The other September flower is the MORNING GLORY. Morning glories are simple symbols of affection.

The Eye Of Horus is an Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power and good health. Horus was the ancient Egyptian sky god who was usually depicted as a falcon. His right eye was associated with the sun RA. RA was the ancient Egyptian sun God. In later Egyptian dynastic times Horus and Ra merged ~ they became ONE, and ruled in all parts of the created world: The Sky, The Earth and The Underworld. The Eye of Horus/Ra is symbolic of the mythologies and mysteries of the “ALL SEEING EYE”, which is even depicted on the American Dollar bill. What is the significance of the “All Seeing Eye”? The “All Seeing Eye”  is the observer of reality ~ once awakened, the veils of illusion are lifted and we are able to “SEE CLEARLY”.

I am sooo pleased, happy and excited about my beautiful body art.  It’s a reminder to be myself, wise, beautiful and authentic.  And a special thanks to Andre who enabled this beautiful and special birthday present.  He’s so supportive of my eccentric ass and always happy to put a smile on my face.  And Rob Brown.  My talented good spirited Libra body artist.  I’ve added him to my favorite man list.  I would recommend him to everyone.  He not only does amazing work, he’s a very nice and good spirited person.  Here’s a link to his site and Facebook:
