We all have bad days, sometimes weeks and occasional months. I haven’t had a horrifically bad day for a while, but I have my ups and downs like everyone else. I find that stress really drains me, and my physical body doesn’t respond well to stress anymore. I know that the first 36 years of my life, which was riddled with horrible stress caused by anger, unresolved pain and childhood trauma, did tremendous damage to my body.
Instead of being consumed with self-pity or martyrdom, I have learned to listen to my body and higher self and take extra good care of my “whole” self. I take the cues from my body and just go with the flow.
For instance, this week I am extra tired, dreaming alot, and have trouble falling asleep. Instead of pushing myself to exhaustion and burn out (which will happen), I take into account that I have manifested some new things in my life, along with undergoing some past life therapy regression. In the past I would have ignored my body and mind and just plowed through the day, and the next one, thinking I was super human in every way and ended up having to stay in bed for a day or two resting up and letting my mind process the sub-conscious changes that were occurring. Now, I fulfill my responsibilities for the day, and do whatever my body tells me to. I take a nap, pamper myself, or write down what information or inspiration I’m channeling. If I don’t empty my mind of the info I receive, it get’s “full” and I get overwhelmed and feel stressed out. If I don’t rest and allow my body mind and spirit to process change, I burn out.
Environment is important to me. When I’m in one where there is a lot of conflict, negativity, or at work where there is a lot of illness and death, I feel drained and often get headaches. I’ve learned some great techniques for energetic\spiritual grounding and protection that keep me focused on my purpose there instead of feeling like a slug. Click the highlighted link and the “Rescue Mediums” have an awesome page on grounding and protection. Love that show!! Lol!!
Instead of enhancing your crappy day or awful week with more negativity or self defeating or destructive behavior, sit with yourself and be quiet. What is this dark time telling you? Here are some things your higher self or your guides might be saying…
“You’re stressed and angry because you need to be true to yourself and stop pleasing others”
“Over Medicating (in any way) is only masking your issues, it’s time to accept help to heal”
“You started a new job or project and your sub-conscious is a bit stressed. Take time for yourself and rest up more until you adjust.”
“It’s time to leave this relationship. It no longer serves your greater good.”
“You’ve just gone through a big loss. Give yourself permission to be sad and let out your grief.”
“You’re going through a break up. Take time to grieve and adjust. Get more rest.”
Your “dark” days are there for a reason. When we dip down to that side, we get a glimpse of what we need to heal, change or we need to rest and take care of yourself. It’s your “mind-body-spirit voice” manifesting in the physical. When we are experiencing a negative response to something it’s an opportunity to sit with that feeling and figure out why we are responding that way. When we listen to that inner voice, we can heal and change what is causing the negative response. Remember that the message is always about YOURSELF and no one else. The outside stimuli (no matter who or what it is) is only there to trigger what YOU need to heal or fix. If you finger point or blame, you only cheat yourself out of your own path of growth.
Maybe there is that awful bitch at work that irks you all the time. She causes you severe stress. On the other hand, you can take your stress response and ask what YOU need to do to improve this for YOURSELF. Maybe you need to be more assertive and report this person (this takes vast inner strength for a people pleaser and it’s time you address these issues), or maybe this is your cue to take those courses you want to take to get a promotion or another job. Get it?!
Being in the dark and embracing it’s gifts, helps our light shine brighter. We get stronger and more in tune with our self and our purpose. So take it easy on yourself, and take care of yourself.
