This winter has been extra long, extra cold, with tons of extra snow. Yuck! Right now is a slumpy time for many. We’re bored, it’s dark, depressing. I love the fuzzy jammies, the soft sweaters and cozy blankets with hot tea and hot chocolate, but when it swings around to March, I’ve had enough! I want to go for walks outside and breath the fresh spring air, I want to ditch the winter coat, and I want to open my windows!
To help myself get out of my slump, I spring up my environment. I get off my ass and clean it. lol. Dust and clutter creates stale energy that makes our environment stuffy and stagnant. Cleaning clears the air, and makes everything clean and fresh. I add “van van” oil to my cleaning water. It smells like fresh lemons and clears away negativity and attracts prosperity, love, and fortune all in one! I tend to burn more sage and incense. I love the smell and it raises the vibration of the room, clearing out stagnant negative energy, and getting things flowing. I burn healing candles such as a “healing”, “love” or “tranquility” Coventry candles. They contain essential oils that coincide with the purpose of the candle. Candles provide warmth, energy and scents that release stress and make our environment more enjoyable. Himalayan Salt Lamps are also a wonderful and pretty healing tool. They convert positive ions into negative ions and clear electro-smog. Basically they create a healthy vibration in your environment.
I get bored with my environment also, and when money is tight, I move things around, change a table cloth, or bring out some decorations. I love Homesense. It’s our favorite store! You can get accents for your home for cheap. Sometimes a new decoration or accent is all you need to perk up your space. Bright and healing colors bring an aura of happiness and comfort to your environment.
I make time for myself to enjoy some treats and pamper time. Buying myself a Latte is a big treat for me since I don’t get many. So I treat myself to a Latte, go antique browsing, or get my nails done. Even taking a relaxing detox bath (sea salt, baking soda) is a treat. Adding a mud mask is the best. You feel invigorated and look great.
Every little thing that you do to enlighten your environment and yourself, will help you get through the next little bit of winter. Pretty soon it will be spring and the windows will fly open, the sun will be brighter, and flowers and trees will bloom again!
