While the past few months has been a whirlwind of change and growth for me, birthing the launch of my brick and mortar store front, I decided to take a breather and re-group, and refresh. I went to Toronto, as we do every year at this time for our corporate conference for the Ontario Mutual Groups. Andre is chair on the Kent & Essex division. It is a privilege for me to attend these events with him. It is not only a rip roaring good time, but the speakers that they have are phenomenal!
I have always been very driven in my life when it comes to goals and personal growth. Even with all the down times and hard lessons I’ve learned so far on this trip to the earth plane, it’s all a step in the right direction if you have a vision of what you want to achieve and accomplish in this life, and take all the ups and downs as a learning experience.
Today everyone was blown away by Chris Hadfield, the first Canadian to walk in space. I can’t even begin to describe in words the incredible message of success, personal growth, and inspiration he delivered. But I’ll try. lol!
His delivery touched me on every level. He spoke about goals and how to reach them. He spoke about having a vision of your own perfection, an ultimate goal and purpose to achieve, but then spoke about how to get there. He also spoke about not limiting yourself to feeling fulfillment if you only reach that said goal, but to celebrate each and every step of accomplishment along the way.
As he spoke, I was reassured and had a renewed faith in myself, as this is how I accomplish all in my life. I set a goal, then I figure out what I need to do to get there. Do I need to learn something new? Do I need to take a course, overcome my own personal roadblocks that are preventing me from moving forward? What steps do I need to take to get to where I want to be?
He also spoke about not only visualizing your success, but visualizing failure. Most people don’t want to think of the things that can go wrong along the way, but it’s all part of the process. If you are prepared for the things that can go wrong, you are more able to handle a bump in the road, or a total change in approach or plan without panic and unnecessary fear and stress. This doesn’t mean you spend your time thinking about dramatics, but a realistic view of the cons and figuring out a plan if it happens.
We are in control of our human experience, and he talked extensively on using your time here to progress humankind, and how we are just at the primitive stages of our full potential both scientifically, and as a worldwide community. We are very powerful and creative, and learning how to use our personal power can bring dramatic change into our lives, which in turn affects those around us in a positive way. Each and every one of us has the power to make a conscious decision or goal, and by focusing our energy on achieving it, will manifest it in our physical world, one step at a time.
For instance, a few years ago I decided I was really sick of my job. I had changed everything in my physical world to how I wanted it. I was healthy, I was in a positive relationship, and my children were in a stable environment that was positive and happy. The only thing left was my job. It was draining, the physical and mental abuse that was part of my job description was not something I wanted to go through every day, even though the pay was very good for this type of career. So what did I do? Instead of settling and complaining about it every day, I decided to change it. At that time I didn’t know how or what I was going to do, but I put it out there in the universe and waited.
One important step in my process was to be open and aware. I’m very intuitive, and have learned how to follow and manage it, so when I get a “nudge” so to speak from God, I follow it, even if I don’t “get it” at that moment. I know in time it will all fit together.
So I went along my way, just being aware and open to opportunities that would come up. I decided to get my Reiki Certification. I didn’t know why. Being someone who has used energy healing for extensive healing and personal growth, I had no desire to “heal” others. But I followed my guides lead anyway. As I took each attunment, my “senses” became stronger, and different. I had to do some past life healing which I had no clue about, but was in awe on how that removed some blockages that were standing in my way. I met new people, I gained a whole new prospective on my path and what my new big goal was going to be. The focus of my “exit plan” started to get clearer.
Making a goal, then a plan, then taking steps to achieve that goal is key. You can’t wish upon a star, or wait for someone else to do it for you, or live your dream through another. You can think of happy things, or lots of money, but if you are unwilling to so the work along the way, on every level of your being, you will be stuck and unable to transform your thought energy into your physical reality.
So as I kept trucking along, not knowing that my ultimate out would be to open up a most needed spiritual store in my area, I followed the prompts. I kept practising Reiki, I got certified through an organization with an ethical practice contract. I decided I didn’t want to practice out of my home anymore and began looking at other options. to be honest, I don’t want my focus to be on Reiki or “healing others”. My experience and personal philosophy tells me that only WE have the power to heal ourselves. There is help and support and tools available to help and guide us, but only by the power of our own mind, are able to create and destroy our reality on this plane.
So with that, I began a new focus and also was being prompted to create a place where everyone can go for all of their spiritual needs. It’s diversified and united and has a high vibrational presence of personal power and evolution. It represents myself. As I am continually on a learning journey of progression,so is my store, and what is available within it’s walls. There’s some fluff, since I am the queen of pretty things, but it’s about the cause and effect that changes our lives, and the tools that you can use to do this. It’s about the reality of change and the hard times, but also the amazing times of joy and sense of inner strength and accomplishment when you reach a goal, or overcome a roadblock to success and happiness. It’s about support, connection, knowledge, and the application of this knowledge that leads to change.
So then we come down to one year before my career change. I knew then what my goal was. I did personal inventory on myself, and strategized a plan to get there. Not only did I have a lot of work and planning to do in the physical world, I had to also work on new skills on a mental and emotional level. So I kept going, and doing the work. As I accomplished one thing, a new door would open, and I would walk through. This became pretty intense at times, but I had a time limit. We began to look at store fronts in the summer and chose one in September. After our business plan, we secured a lease in December, and I started planning on how I was going to transition out of one career into another. That wasn’t easy, as I had to play it by ear, and figure out how busy I was going to be, and if I could financially afford it.
In January I had set a resignation date, but things changed and my guides prompted me to hand it in sooner than expected, and then having to just leave before my time was officially up. I was glad and relieved. Mission accomplished. Goal reached. And I now have every area in my life acting in full harmony, representing the same purpose in life, and breaking the cycle of abuse and dysfunction in all areas in my life. Am I done. No. I’ve only begun a new chapter in my life, and there is more change to come.
My choice has made many people excited and inspired to make changes in their own life, and it also has stirred up negative feelings in others. It has forced me to yet again cleanse my friend base and be open to welcoming new people in who are on the same wavelength. As with any change you make, some will be happy, and some will just complain. Lots will feel uncomfortable, for most people enjoy complaining about their crappy life or job, but won’t do anything to change or improve it. When you make positive changes, those people won’t approve or they will tear you down to reinforce their own pour choices and keep themselves in their own misery that is to hard for them to change, or they choose not to because it is their comfort zone.
The point here is to just keep your focus, and associate with those who have higher goals and who are on the same success level as you want to achieve. When you keep your sights high, and take time every day to be grateful for the journey that you are on, the wisdom that you will gain through this process is priceless. It’s our purpose. It’s why we are here.
